Twinkl presents the artistic talents of the students in the Philippines through the creative expression of art to convey the message of Hope in our national project: “Arts of Hope virtual gallery” with the theme of ‘Sining ng pag-asa’.
Our nation needs enablers who are able to ignite creativity in others and also show resilience as we face a series of challenges. We've invited students in the Philippines to take part in the Arts of Hope poster making contest to celebrate National Arts Month and to encourage students to express their feelings through art and showcase their creativity. Recognizing and celebrating Art as a source of hope through the theme "Sining ng pag-asa".
We were impressed with the dedication and creativity shown in this art activity. Using existing art materials in classrooms and at home, students in the Philippines showed us how they envisioned a resilient nation. We hope this brings inspiration and encouragement to you.

Artists - are they born or made? That's debatable. However, the talents of these young people are undeniable. All of the students' artwork convey meaningful messages. Their hopeful outlook of the future is truly inspiring. Environmental Recovery, Resiliency, Unity, Peace, Love and Hope are expressed through their art.
This Art of Hope virtual gallery shows that even at a young age, kids have big dreams for the future. Despite the challenges we are facing during the pandemic and the natural calamities we are experiencing in the country, there is still a light of hope. Let these artworks inspire you, bring you hope and encouragement.
We proudly present the Arts of Hope posters made by the students in the Philippines. We hope that these brilliant artworks inspired you to use art as a natural and safe way to express your feelings and thoughts. Think positively and have hope despite the challenges we face. Just like the drawings of the students ‘there’s always a rainbow at the end of a storm’.
Special thanks to D’Carmelite School and Nord Anglia International School Manila for implementing the Arts of Hope project as a school activity involving all grade levels.

Julianna C says "My artwork is a creation of self-expression of arts and humanity. It tells a story that depicts human emotions and boundless hope. It is presented to inspire and enlighten the world about reality of sufferings and its eventual salvation. The message of my artwork intend to connect and soften our hearts and serves as a form of solace for those who had lost hope in life. Most importantly, it relays a purpose of instilling values in a form of art, that to have HOPE, we need to foster KINDNESS".

Luis C says: "My artwork shows hope during the COVID-19 pandemic. For the longest time, the whole world is under the chain and bond of the coronavirus imprisoning all of us inside our homes. Thanks to our frontliners including but not limited to doctors, nurses, scientists, religious leaders, policy, military, and farmers, life goes on despite the difficulties and challenges. With the introduction of vaccines through the hard work of the scientists of many countries, the planet breaks the virus chain. Now, the whole world is slowly recovering from the impact of coronavirus. The dove and rays of the sun symbolize hope. Soon, coronavirus will no longer be a big problem for the whole world."

Gayle F says: "Hope is being able to see that there is light despite all of the darkness." – Desmond Tutu.
A cavern is a dark and dreary hole stretching inwards to the depths of the underground. So silent one could sometimes hear the faint drops of water. Most would find it terrifying to be stuck in such a place without proper food and water, most of the time scavenging through the unknown of the dark that encompasses you. However, miraculously, a small crack up above has let the warm light flow through. Just because of that simple light, a tree can grow despite the horrors of the hollows. That is what I imagine hope is to me. Hope; a simple word that can mean so much to many people. It's that friend that holds your hand and leads you through the darkness.
