This interesting writing activity is designed to help children learn about Aztec poetry and to write their own poems about Aztec gods. The Aztecs took poetry very seriously and it was considered to be very important, often performed by high ranking people or even their king. Encourage your children to write their own poems to one of the Aztec gods, praising or requesting help and then, once written, they could perform them to a friend, the rest of the class or as part of an assembly.
